By the way, I trust you didn’t take the wrong way my remark many posts ago that adopting the words of Cyrano as one’s own was almost as ridiculous as adopting Atticus Finch as one’s online pseudonym or claiming to be a follower of Jesus Christ. Needless to say, I don’t think doing any of those things is ridiculous, since they are all reflect an aspiration and an allegiance to an ideal, even if imperfectly lived.

There is such contempt for lawyers who might do some work for the poor here and there that the system is now considering the work of would-be lawyers as an equivalent. I don’t know whether to laugh or cry.

What I do know is that this exposes a real problem. At least to others in the system.
