Thank you for the useful information. I was recently delivered by a Starke County police officer a subpoena to appear as a witness for a jury trial battery case. The subpoena is from the prosecutors office and signed by the prosecutor. It states that my presence is requested at the pre-trial conference on a given date, and then states that I am ordered to appear at the Jury Trial on a separate date. My daughter and I both received a copy of this, and neither one of us want to testify. Would we be in contempt for not participating in either date? Also, if forced to attend the jury trial can I exercise my right to plead 5th? Thank you for your help.

In reply to rebecca mcknight. Did the subpoena purport to require your presence at a pre-trial conference, or did it only require your presence at trial or at a deposition?

this happened to me in my sons case. He was one of the Elkhart4. I got a suponea.

Vickie becker even told me that she could bring me up on charges after the fact but that she wasnt. can anything be done about this.
