I cite the article because it reaches essentially the same conclusion as <a href=\"http:\/\/ourforwardmovement.blogspot.com\/2009\/11\/how-attorneys-can-represent-their.html\">this blog post<\/a> by a baby lawyer, which Scott Greenfield mocked <a href=\"http:\/\/blog.simplejustice.us\/2009\/11\/22\/a-blog-that-shouldnt.aspx\">here<\/a> on a blog he calls &#8220;Simple Justice.&#8221; Scott&#8217;s view, you see, is that the duty of a criminal defense attorney is &#8220;not to &#8216;do justice,&#8217; but to defend.&#8221; Scott goes so far as to proclaim, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.peoplevstate.com\/?p=363&amp;cpage=1#comment-1229\">here<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/gamso-forthedefense.blogspot.com\/2009\/11\/who-we-are-and-what-we-do-part-ii.html?showComment=1259464317717#c2932333655313433013\">here<\/a>, that anybody who doesn&#8217;t parrot his view in all its simplicity (me, for instance) shouldn&#8217;t be a criminal defense attorney.<\/p>\n<p>Frieling, by contrast, takes a less dogmatic and hardheaded approach: &#8220;There also are many experienced and wise defense attorneys who would completely disagree with everything I&#8217;m saying. Sometimes <em>I <\/em>disagree with what I&#8217;m saying.
